SELLING ONE'S CHILDREN IN THE NAME OF POVERTY

India is a land of miracles & funny believes.Here parents are consider as next to GOD .For this reason you may find news of selling of children by their parents in the name of poverty .Whenever the story come in the limelight people get moved by the story and will say-"bachara garib aur kya kar sakta tha or oh ho hindustan me aaj bhi aisa hota hai...." something like this only ,but no will feel that what would be the future of these poor kids who has been sold ,does there are anyone who are worried about them.It is ovious that these kid will be either (mis)used for some sex abusing activity or some bonded lobour activities.
Their life are not heading toward any education or quality living.Does so many ngos, child and women welfare ministries are doing anything in this regard.Does the mind set of people will change regarding this . Or more importantly does the MEDIA REPORTING will change in this regard or they will take up victim children's issue strongly .Or any sensitive person will try to send all these victims of parent to some ngos who are taking care of children

AWARENESS ON THE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE BILL

Recently I have to visit one of the DC rank officer's office in Delhi for some domestic violence complain.The remarkable thing I come to know that the gentelman doesn't know that this law can be used against father & brother for their misbehaviour,verbal abuse,for the right of maintenance,right to reside at home,for letting her daughter to pursue higher study,job,marriage.This is not the case of this high rank officer even many women politician feel that this law will remain underused as girls /women consider the abusive situation as their bad luck or something like this.Our society still not consider that father or brother can be subject of complain. They always feel that it is the in-laws or husband who should be at the receiving end.

But recent killing in delhi of a buinessman in Kalkaji by his brother in-law revealed that the killers are his wife'husband who were angery over the huge property being passed on by the father to the daughter. The mother-in-law of the deceased person also accused her sons that they have killed her son-in-law.Our society is ok with the notion that you can borrow money for the dowry of the daughter but you can't empower her by passing few revenue generating assets to her.If a son go out of station for doing job his share or claim in the ancestral property will remain intact but if a girl leave her paternal house her claim in the property will go for a toss.
Even girls also feel that it is better not to claim the property right for the peace of family.Can I question : why family peace is required at the cost of daughter's right?

WHY PARENTS ARE NOT QUESTIONED?

In our indian society whenever a bride is burned the whole burden is passed on to the in-laws .No one is pointing that why not to question the parents or relatives of the girl .What they where doing when she discussed the problems of her husband and in-laws to them.Why they have sended their daughter to the in-laws in such a bad situation,if being parents they don't stand for their own girl why they expect others to do that for the girl in question. First ,the girl should be brought back to her home and then the fight for her rights can go on .At least in such a case the girl can be alive.

But parents,brother and other relatives all doesn't want the girl to return to her parent's haouse because then the whole matter will get complecated.They advice girl to stay at her in-laws house till she became a history and then they fight against the in-laws.Actually their discreminatry attitude encourage the in-laws of the girl to practice in- discimination.

FAMILY IN QUESTION

We live in democratic world ,but our family system is not democratic.We don't allow our girl child to pursue her education,selection of subject ,career , person whom she wishes to marry, dress she like to wear etc.List is endless. So is the suffering for women is also endless.I remember in kolkata a marwari girl has to commit suicide because she wanted to study Bengali in her graduationas a subjectbut her parents didn't allowed her.But who care? Girl is asked to get educated upto the level where she can fetch a good groom for herself.Simon ,the french feminist said it correctly that A MAN IS GROOMEN TO GET A JOB & A WOMAN IS GROOMED TO GET A HUSBAND. The status of a man in the society is equal to the post he hold ,so is the status of a woman in the society is the man who she hold i.e. husband.Very early during my school time we read an eassy telling that woman is zero unitry which get its value when it get attached to a number i.e. a man.Although it is not totally true in respect of the current situation of women in India but by and large pic is that women are forced to give up her ambitious career in order to look after her children,marriage.Or if not she has to play a very hectic role in the family of a super woman.Even the parents of the girl teaches her daughter to be submissive ,obidient and son to be in commanding position.Disparity starts from the begining only.
